Bassmaster recently listed its top bass fishing lakes in the U.S. for 2016.

It's an argument that draws a multitude of opinions from bass anglers everywhere:

Bassmaster magazine recently released its "10 Best Bass Lakes of 2016" list, which includes a repeat No. 1 and three California waters.

Bassmaster listed Toledo Bend Reservoir, the huge 181,000-acre impoundment on the Texas-Louisiana border, as our best bass lake for the second straight year. The magazine pointed out the lake's penchant for producing 10-pound-and-larger fish, as well as a high number of keepers.
"There is no doubt that this is the best big-bass factory in the nation right now," pro angler Kevin Van Dam told the magazine.
Toledo Bend is a legendary bass destination that has been listed on top-10 lists for decades, including the recently released Game & Fish's "Ultimate Southern Bass Fishing Trip" list.

Also on the Bassmaster list are California waters Clear Lake, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Lake Berryessa.
Bassmaster said four months of research went into the list, and included info from state fisheries departments, tournament organizations, professional anglers and fans.
