Replace Kayak Milk Crate With Soft Crate

Shaped like a crate and designed like a lightweight tackle bag, the Plan Soft Crate really gives the traditional fishing crate a run for the money.

Introduced at last year’s iCast Show and showed up on the shelves this past early spring the new Plano Soft Crate fits well in most any kayak where a milk crate once sat.

Designed to hold eight Plano 3600 stowaway boxes or seven 3700 stood on end in the main compartment, with additional space for 3600 boxes in the side pocket and stowaway compartment.

There is also another small storage area in the lid for gloves, sun block and more. This soft crate is easy to access while out on the water and designed to allow you to unclip the two side pockets or top pocket and take with you when the main compartment is not needed, or just to have one of them up front with you (like I do).

This also allows for some customization of your crate as well. The soft crate will fit into a milk crate like a glove for added stability but the paneled walls alone are fine. I have yet to waste my time putting it in a milk crate and use it as a stand-alone and it has worked very well.

There are several D-rings and two holders that offer quick access to your pliers or items that you chose to hang. The fabric is water-resistant and has held up well this summer. Tie downs on each side allow for security. A divider is provided if you want to separate your gear.

Overall, Plano hit the target with this gem of a kayak crate which is customizable, light-weight, and functional. Heck even the price is great at $50 far cheaper than some of their smaller tackle bags that hold much less tackle.
