Seasons 2-5 Host: Adam Heggenstaller
Game & Fish Editorial Director Adam Heggenstaller grew up in central Pennsylvania, virtually on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Fishing for smallmouth bass quickly became one of his passions, along with plying many of the area’s coldwater streams for native brook trout and wild browns. Today, he enjoys fishing for a wide range of species with both conventional gear and fly tackle, although now his home is even closer to the Susquehanna and smallmouths are difficult for him to resist.
Heggenstaller is a student of fish patterns and behaviors, always searching for reasons why certain species are found in particular areas of water, and looking for the best presentations that will trigger strikes. He balances his time on the water with his duty of steering the content of the Game & Fish brand, including four regional editions of Game & Fish magazine, GameandFishMag.com and related social media channels.
Season 1 Host: Dr. Todd A. Kuhn
Dr. Todd Kuhn’s passion for the outdoors began at a very early age. As a boy, he would travel every summer from his family’s home in Florida to his grandparents’ rustic cabin at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains in New York. There, his grandfather, an avid outdoorsman himself, taught Kuhn how to fish for brook and rainbow trout. When not fishing, Kuhn would roam the woods with his granddad, “hunting” bears with a sharpened willow stick.
Kuhn parlayed his love for the outdoors and the strong technical background he developed while working in the aerospace industry into a career of writing about hunting and fishing, and the gear used in those pursuits. While serving as an editor with Game & Fish from 2017 to 2023, he helped conduct numerous gear evaluations, including the brand’s annual comprehensive Tackle Test.
