Welcome to Deer Camp.
The 2013 deer hunting season is upon us, and we have our sights on bringing the great American pastime to you. So come back often to check out Deer Camp 2013, sponsored byDick’s Sporting Goods and RAM Trucks.
Along with reporting on news, tips and trends in the field, we plan to visit a number of deer camps around the country to bring you the faces and places of the season. Along the way, we will detail how some of our Outdoor Channel personalities hunt.
In an ambitious attempt that depends on fickle cell service in the deer woods, we plan to stream some hunts live on the internet. Cross your fingers.
We haven’t seen a shot taken yet, but, like you, we aregetting in the mindset. We’ve looked into the history of the bow and arrow , been to a top archery shop and learned some things bow hunters should know , talked with Ralph Cianciarulo of “Archer’s Choice” about buying a bow and the insand outs of broadheads.
We’ve visited the Quality Deer Management Association Convention and the ArcheryHall of Fame and Museum , compiled facts about deer , facts about their antlers and have a series of hunting tips coming from one of the top anglers on the Bassmaster Elite Series.
So come on in, just do it quietly so you don’t spook the deer. Check out DEER CAMP .
