Video: See Trophy Catfish Destroy Topwater Bait

Video: See Trophy Catfish Destroy Topwater Bait

Topwater baits are not the norm in a trophy catfish angler's arsenal.

Usually, we're thinking of ultra stinky baits when we talk about attracting a trophy catfish to bite the hook.

But check this out.

A video has been making the rounds on social media showing a large catfish following, then engulfing, a 3D Suicide Duck topwater lure from Savage Gear.

The video, perhaps from France due to this posting on YouTube, has been shared by several outlets since the fall, including this week on Facebook by Bass Fishing Favorites.

The lure is designed to imitate a wounded or struggling duckling on the surface.

In the video, you see the lure pitched into cover and slowly retrieved as a catfish comes out of the shadows and then eats the bait.

How cool would it be to hook a trophy catfish this way?
