Turkey Scouting with a Man and His Dog

Text and photos by Game & Fish Photo Editor Ron Sinfelt.

Game and Fish Magazine Photo Editor Ron Sinfelt prepares for turkey season with several outings in an attempt to pattern turkeys and get an idea where to hunt this season.

And he loves to scout with his dog, Oreo.

Ron shares some images and impressions from a scouting trip in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Knowing where creeks are located around your hunting area is important part of scouting, since birds can be hesitant to cross creeks to answer a call, plus they are good to find crawfish. (Photo by Ron Sinfelt)
