- See Below: Traditions adds 45-caliber options for Vortek StrikerFire and Pursuit series.
Traditions Firearms changed the muzzleloading industry in 2020 with the introduction of the award-winning NitroFire, a collaboration with Federal Premium and Hodgdon. They continue the innovation this year by introducing the award-winning NitroFire with the VAPR Twist barrel. Traditions introduced the update at SHOT Show 2022 in Las Vegas.
The gun features a 1:24-inch VAPR Twist barrel, which helps to stabilize bullets, increase accuracy, and expand the bullet options that can be used.
The NitroFire is available in .50 caliber and has a 26-inch Chromoly steel fluted and tapered barrel. It also is equipped with Traditions’ Elite XT trigger system, a crisp, clean breaking trigger optimized for hunting that features a rebounding hammer and cross block trigger safety.
As the first and best muzzleloader on the market that uses the Firestick system, the NitroFire has now been elevated to a new level with the VAPR twist barrel.

Traditions Adds .45 Cal. Options
Traditions is adding .45 caliber muzzleloader and accessory options into their product line. Traditions will have the caliber available in both the Vortek StrikerFire series and the mid-level Pursuit XT series. Both series have been part of the Traditions line for several years and have evolved as new technology and options have been added.
The addition of 45 caliber options is a need Traditions has seen in the marketplace.
"We’re excited to bring .45 caliber back into our line," VP of Sales Ryan Nicholas said. "We have heard the desire for .45-caliber options. The caliber shoots flatter and at a higher velocity so it offers an option to those who are looking for a more precise shooting experience. We’re including the .45 caliber option on popular models so we feel this will provide more options for the hunter and shooter."
Traditions also will be offering accessories in .45 caliber.
