DENVER and TORONTO (Sept. 8, 2015) – World Fishing Network (WFN), the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers across North America, today announced the appointment of Sean Luxton as General Manager of WFN US effective immediately. Luxton, who will work from the WFN US office in Centennial, Colorado, will report to Jim Liberatore, President and Chief Executive of Outdoor Sportsman Group – Networks, which includes Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network.

“I’m pleased to announce that Sean Luxton has been named General Manager of WFN US,” said Liberatore, “No one is more familiar with and more passionate about WFN than Sean, who recently celebrated a decade of service with WFN. We’ll benefit from his expertise and relationships with many of our most important stakeholders as Sean helps us incorporate WFN under the broader Outdoor Sportsman Group umbrella, maximizing our value to our viewers and affiliates.”

“I’m thrilled to take on the challenge of working with the team to grow World Fishing Network by delivering the best viewing experience to our audience of more than 60 million anglers across North America, wherever they are and however they want to access our content,” Luxton said. “With the unparalleled resources of Outdoor Sportsman Group – Networks behind us, we’re very well positioned to build on our leadership in the fishing space and add to the success of our advertising, content and distribution partners. And that’s what we’re going to do.”

Luxton had served as Senior Vice President of Digital and Content Distribution since 2012 in WFN’s Toronto office after previously holding the role of Senior Vice President of Affiliate and Content Distribution at the network’s Centennial, Colorado office from 2010-12. Recently, Luxton was responsible for successfully re-booting the network’s digital platforms as well as overseeing linear distribution efforts that led to new launches on Armstrong, Comcast, Cox Communications, Service Electric and Suddenlink systems, among others. He initially joined World Fishing Network ahead of its launch in December 2005 as Vice President of Content Distribution, starting with zero subs when the network launched in Canada and helping to grow the brand to encompass nearly 60 million households across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.

Earlier in his career, Luxton also held executive positons with Corus Entertainment, a Canadian media and broadcasting company.
