Real Heroes, Real Champions

OUTD : Scott, thanks for joining us. Beretta's Wild & Raw has returned for an action-packed second season this fall. What can the Outdoor Channel viewer expect this time around?
Scott Robertson (SR) : This season, viewers will get to know me and Marcus. This year features more personality segments and tons of action. It is clean, fast and full of great animals.
OUTD : You and Marcus went around the world this season to places like New Zealand and Africa. Are you the type of guy that loves the adventures abroad, or would you rather stay in Texas ? Any interesting stories from the overseas trips this season?
SR : God bless Texas. Marcus and I love Texas, however, we love to travel and hunt new places. This year we filmed two weeks in New Zealand and two weeks in Africa. We also filmed in South Dakota , Texas, Florida and California . We made some great new lifelong friends and had some great hunts. It’s always an adventure when traveling with Marcus. After two seasons, he flies first class and I still sit on a chicken crate next to a pair of goats.

OUTD : Animal-wise, what kind of game were you two chasing this year?
SR : This year the W.A.R. Team hunted gators in Florida, mule deer and whitetail in Texas and South Dakota. New Zealand was packed with stag, fallow and sitka deer. The New Zealand possum hunt was very cool. It was great to hunt with Marcus on his first trip to Africa. We had a great time – 32 animals are on the way to the taxidermist.
OUTD : What's the one thing you're most excited for the Outdoor Channel viewer to see this season on Wild & Raw?

SR : Our special guests. This year we had some great American heroes on Wild & Raw. Scott O’Grady, Dana Bowman, JJ Jones and the Blue Angels to name a few. Each one has great stories and I know the viewers will enjoy getting to know every one of our guests.
OUTD : Wild & Raw is a sometimes unfiltered look at how two American champions react to one other and compete together. If you had to sum up Marcus Luttrell in one sentence, what would it be?
SR : Complicated and loyal. Marcus is a difficult guy to get to know. He does not give friendship easy. However, if he calls you a friend you are a friend for life.
OUTD : You're a 19-time shooting All-American and Sporting Clays World Champ. What's the single biggest piece of advice you can give someone?
SR : When hunting with a Navy Seal, always keep him in front of you so you can keep an eye on him (laughs). The second piece of advice would be: buy a Beretta, then get a good instructor to teach you how to shoot it.
OUTD : What's next for you in 2011?
SR : I’ll continue to shoot sporting clays professionally for Beretta. I also run a shooting range in Dallas called Elm Fork Shooting Sports which keeps me busy. My three kids are getting to the age to start hunting and shooting and I’m looking forward to spending time with them. Oh, and maybe attending a wedding for my co-host. You didn’t hear that from me.
