Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said the 47-point buck taken by Stephen Tucker of Gallatin, Tenn., in November scored 312 3/8 inches, besting the previous non-typical mark of 307 5/8 set by Tony Lovsteun (age 15 at the time) in Albia, Iowa.
The buck was re-scored last week following a 60-day drying out period. Tucker killed the buck with his muzzleloader in November.

Boone & Crockett officials dubbed the buck as the "Tennessee Tucker Buck."

"I have truly been blessed and I am very thankful," Tucker said in a TWRA press release . "I have had a lot of phone calls and questions and have tried to be patient waiting through the process. I am very appreciative to my family, friends, and the TWRA, especially Capt. Dale Grandstaff, who has led me through the process. I believe he has been as excited about it as I have."

The world record is pending until finalized at a later date. Another panel of Boone and Crockett scorers will again take measurements prior to the organization's awards banquet in 2019.
"I am so proud that a pending world record harvest has come from Tennessee, obviously," TWRA Executive Director Ed Carter said. "Just to know we have an official world record, at least it is pending, in Tennessee means a lot to a lot of people."

Tucker made his harvest from about 40 yards on land that his family has leased to farm for the past 40 years, according to the TWRA.
Tucker's buck also bests the previous Tennessee state record set in 2000 by Dave Wachtel, whose deer scored 244 3/8, according to OutdoorHub.com.
