Offseason? What Offseason?

While visiting with Jack Link's Major League Fishing pro Randy Howell recently, yours truly made the mistake of asking about his offseason plans.

Howell laughed at the question and said: "Offseason?!? Burkhead, what are you talking about? There is no offseason!"

While Howell was partly joking, there is a big element of truth to his humorous statement.

"Yeah, we aren't that many weeks away from the next year and the new bass fishing season," said Howell. "But I don't even start thinking about it all until my annual King's Home boat give-away and fundraising event is over with, something that I've been doing for five years now."

Howell said that for the most part, the month of October and on into early November this year was greatly consumed with the planning and the details of that event, a gathering that was held recently in mid-November in Birmingham, Ala.
