Big-game hunters out West scanning wide-open vistas want reliable spotting scopes. Bowhunters in the Southeast want a compact yet clear, crisp and powerful binocular to count antler points or see through brush. Everyone wants a rangefinder with a load of options but foremost, a great battery and definitive distance display.
This year's best new optics cover those checklist items and more. Here are some of the new ones introduced at SHOT Show in Las Vegas .
SCOPES Bushnell Match Pro ED Bushnell Match Pro ED Riflescope Long-range shooters have a new scope to consider in the Bushnell Match Pro ED, a 5-30x56 FFP that has an ED (extra low dispersion) Prime 56mm objective with EXO Barrier. Both turrets lock, and the elevation turret has an Easy Set zero-stop and two-stage pop-up rev indicator. Bushnell says this "fully featured elevation turret ensures the shooter knows what revolution they're on and instills repeatable confidence back to zero." Other features include updated illumination, 11 brightness settings, a new DM2 reticle, and an adjustable 15-yard parallax side focus that allows you to switch from centerfire to rimfire for hunting, plinking or competition. $699 | bushnell.com
