There’s always a ton of buzz about the hottest new bowhunting gear unveiled at the annual Archery Trade Association Show. New bows, new accessories, arrows, releases, targets … you name it.

But the one product that should interest every bowhunter is the one that does what we all spend months preparing for and dreaming about.

Broadheads.

Broadheads are the single-most impactful piece of gear bowhunters take to the woods. It is the broadhead that does the job after an arrow is released, and ultimately that job is to fill tags.

Here are some of the top new options for 2022 in the broadhead world.

Wasp Sharpshooter 200

Wasp Sharpshooter 200

Wasp, one of the OGs of the broadhead game, has cranked out solid, affordable performance for decades. In 2022, they’ve unveiled a head that hits two of the hottest trends in bowhunting — high FOC arrow builds and single-bevel blades.

The Sharpshooter weighs in at a beefy 200 grains and is built in classic, durable Wasp fashion. It’s a four-blade design with a cut-on-contact leading blade and a bleeder-blade behind it. The main blade features a single bevel for increased penetration and bone-splitting effect.

All blades are replaceable as well in the event they’re damaged beyond sharpening.

G5 Deadmeat V2

New Broadheads for 2022
G5 Deadmeat V2

Who says you can’t improve on an original? Well, apparently, it’s not the folks at G5.

The Dead Meat has been one of G5’s top models and the V2 is an updated version of that classic. The new model boasts increased blade sharpness and edge integrity.

The V2 maintains the original’s same machined steel ferrule for durability and boasts three blades that deliver a 1.5-inch cutting diameter when deployed. The original Deadmeat have proven to be straight-shooting and high-performing and the V2 looks to be an upgraded version that will deliver improved results. Each pack includes a practice point.

VIP Ranger

American-made and veteran-owner, VIP has made a splash in the broadhead world with head designs that deliver mechanical-blade deployment in a way not seen before, using a system VIP refers to as "momentum management" and "Flexcut technology" which doesn’t use retaining clips or o-rings.

The Ranger is a two-blade design that delivers a substantial 2.4-inch cutting width when fully deployed and delivers a 1.2-inch cutting width prior to deployment.

The blades are surgically sharp and VIP claims field-point accuracy.

SYKD Hunt Endurance

New Broadheads for 2022
SYKD Hunt Endurance

If you like beefy, stout broadheads, the Hunt Endurance is your head. Steel construction, hardened stainless steel blades that are hand-sharpened and a bone-smashing tip design define the Hunt Endurance.

The blades lock to the ferrule from the front, not the rear, as with many fixed-blade heads, further enhancing the overall integrity of the broadhead when it encounters heavy resistance.

The heads are available in 100 grains and feature a 1-inch cutting diameter.
