DENVER (July 13, 2016) In-Fisherman Senior Editor Steve Quinn will be inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum as a Legendary Communicator during ceremonies held during the 2016 International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST) show in Orlando, Florida.

The recent addition of the Legendary Communicator category of the Hall of Fame honors individuals who have developed a unique means or avenue to introduce or maintain interest in the sport of fishing.

“This honor is the apex of a career spent serving and educating anglers of all ages,” said Outdoor Sportsman Group –  Integrated Media CEO and President Jeff Paro. “Steve has spent his entire career in the field and waterways of the world teaching others about fish and the environment they inhabit with his unique style and storytelling abilities. It is an honor to see him inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame.”

Quinn, a resident of Brainerd, Minnesota, has served as an editor for Outdoor Sportsman Group –  Integrated Media’s In-Fisherman magazine for 28 years. He has served as co-chair of the External Affairs Committee of the American Fisheries Society (AFS) – charged with communicating fishery research findings to anglers and general public, has chaired the Public Affairs Committee of the Minnesota Chapter of AFS for seven years, while also serving on other committees of the parent society and its local chapters and has been a member of the American Sportfishing Association’s (ASA) Conservation and Communications committees.

Before joining the magazine, Quinn served in the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for five years. The native of New York City earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Dickinson College (Carlisle, PA) and was awarded a master of science degree in fisheries biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

The Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame is the international headquarters for education, recognition and promotion of freshwater sportfishing. The Hall of Fame is located in Hayward, Wisconsin and opened its doors in 1980.
