Learn how to easily convert wood logs into beautiful and natural planters for your patio.

Converting wood logs into natural planters is a simple and beautiful way to enhance your backyard patio.

Supplies Needed:

Directions:

  1. Cut
Cut the logs to the desired size. Be sure to cut the sections long enough to allow room to drill a 4-inch section for space to place plants.
  2. Drill
Drill a hole into each log about 4 inches wide and 4 inches deep to create a pocket for an annual plant.
  3. Line
Optional: Place landscape fabric in the hole to create a barrier between the wood and the soil. This will help prevent decomposition of the wood.
  4. Plant
Place an annual plant in the hole and fill the remaining space with additional soil as needed.
  5. Display
Display your DIY natural planter in your outdoor space and enjoy!
