The Girls of Game & Fish: Spring 2015

With spring just around the corner, we're patiently waiting out the thaw and dreaming of warmer days spent on the water. The Girls of Game & Fish are here to lead the way.

Our female readers are always proud to share their accomplishments from the field on our Camera Corner and we're proud to honor these triumphs with another special collection in the gallery below.

Submit your photos to our Camera Corner for a chance to be in the next edition of the Girls of Game & Fish!

Amber from Florida

Amber's first mahi-mahi, caught while trolling ballyhoo off the shores of Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Ashley from North Carolina

"Just another day on the water. My wife was trying to add another species notch to her belt ... One of the main reasons I fell in love with her was due to her love for fishing," wrote Ashley's husband, who took this photo, titled "One Beauty Hunting for Another."

Bridget from Georgia

"It was getting dark, but I thought, 'What's one more minute going to hurt?' The guys were probably already back at the trucks, but they can wait. So I waited. The noise got louder and louder, and then out from the woods came this big 8 pointer. He stood right at the edge of the food plot staring in my direction. I aimed for the heart. Pulled the trigger." We can easily imagine the guys' jealousy. Congrats!

Erika from New Hampshire

Fishing with her dad, Erika reeled in this Rocky Pond, N.H., largemouth. There's nothing like spending quality father-daughter time on the water.

Eszter from Florida

Eszter proudly posed with her monster 29-inch Ponce Inlet, Fla., redfish.

Jodi from New York

"After fishing for hours at our family fishing outing, I finally caught myself a big ol' beauty!"

Kaylene happily enjoyed an afternoon on the water, which resulted in landing four feisty largemouth bass.

Kristy from Nevada

"What an absolute beauty of an antelope. I am so thrilled, thankful and ultimately grateful for this experience. It will never be forgotten," said Kristy about her first time hunting antelope in Nevada.

Lexy from Wisconsin

Lexy shot this 8 pointer, her second buck ever, on opening day at her family farm in Wisconsin. For Lexi, the trophy is the memory.

Lindsey from New York

Lindsey posed with her "27-pound ab workout" caught at the Salmon Country Marina just outside of Mexico, N.Y.

Melissa from California

Sonja from Mississippi

Sonja and her husband put in a hard day's work for a delicious slab dinner.

Sometimes you have to fish a bait that allows you to cover a lot of water efficiently. When you're on the search for bass that have moved into deeper water off the bank and away from obvious holding spots, a swimbait can locate them.

On the Search with Swimbaits

One of the best imitations of a wounded baitfish is the soft-plastic jerkbait, or fluke. A fluke darting just beneath the surface can be too much for a bass to resist. Rig it and fish it according to water conditions and cover to make this great bait even more effective.
