Gear Check: New Hunting Blind Designed for Ground-Based Hunters

Browning Camping & Hunting Blinds has developed a new hunting blind for bowhunters and other hunters who want maneuverability, silence and maximum concealment.

The new-for-2021 Browning Envy ground blind addresses the needs of ground-based hunters.

Featuring an 82-inch (6 feet, 10 inches) center height and 74-inch shooting width, the Envy allows compound shooters to stand when taking the shot and the tall center height means traditional bowhunters can shoot from a seated position without limb impact.

Incorporated into the Browning Envy blind are silent-operation features such as a Silent-Trac window system that permits the windows to be raised or lowered quietly, while also providing adjustability to meet changing concealment and shooting position needs. The QuickConnect silent-entry door system uses magnets along the door seam for silent entry and exit, and no-fumble hooks to ensure the door remains closed.

Durable 600D polyester fabric comprises the Envy’s wall and window curtain construction while shoot-through mesh is used across the 180-degree window openings. Support comes from fiberglass poles connected to aluminum hubs featuring engineered tips and pins. In addition to the 180-degree window placement, the Envy incorporates two camera window ports for still photography or video applications and a 360-degree ground skirt for concealment and minimal light intrusion, and to help keep scent in.

Available in Realtree EXCAPE™ and Mossy Oak® Country DNA®, the Browning Envy blind also includes a bow hanger, deluxe stakes with tie-downs, brush loops, and four gear pockets. Overall weight is 23 pounds.

The AirJavelin takes airpower into a whole new direction, with no strings attached. Powered by CO2, it launches a 170-grain arrow at 300 fps. With a full-length Picatinny rail on top and a short section below the barrel, it can be accessorized to the hilt. So, if you're interested in launching dozens of arrows downrange without ever pulling a bowstring, consider the Umarex AirJavelin.

We've spent lots of time discussing the features of the Lupo and how they benefit hunters. Now, on episode 11 of Beyond the Rifle, it's time to put these features to use on the range. We realize not everyone can shoot a Lupo today, so we hope this episode gives hunters a good idea of the kind of performance they can expect from this rifle.
