If you like to collect data to help you improve your success on the water, the Angler app may be just the device to add to your fishing electronics.
I like where this app is going. Anglr app (no, that's not a typo) has a device, called Tracker, that you latch onto your rod, and it captures all sorts of data, like number of casts, number of hookups and number of landed fish — automatically.

You can check out the info on your phone or transfer it to your laptop. And if you do import it to your computer, the data populates a very slick dashboard that graphically lays out your day — the successes and fails — so you can make better choices in similar conditions.

There's a lot to this system: a free Anglr app you can download now at an app store; the Tracker, which is a $129 investment; and Anglr Experience, the laptop dashboard app, which is $4.99/month.
One of my favorite features is the drop-pin: the button is on the Tracker, just in front of the reel, so it's so easy to drop unique pins even while you're fighting a fish!

The system isn't only for hard-core tournament anglers who need to break down a lake or body of water quickly. It's just as useful to weekend warriors who love their sport and want to look at it from a different perspective. This is the way fishing is going so you might as well get aboard now and be ahead of the curve. — John Geiger
