You can store this Dr. Pepper Venison Jerky in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Of course, chances are the jerky won't last that long (it's too good not to eat quickly).

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan combine Dr. Pepper, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook 10-15 minutes until mixture has reduced by half. Chill marinade completely.
  2. Add venison to marinade and marinate in the fridge for 10 hours or overnight.
  3. When ready, preheat oven to 175°F. Line baking sheets with aluminum foil and a baking rack. Lay the strips on the rack and bake for 3-4 hours until desired texture. (Note: You can also make this Dr. Pepper Venison Jerky Recipe in a dehydrator
  4. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. For long-term storage, vacuum-seal and freeze jerky.
