Some have traditional lines, others are somewhat unique designs. Whatever your flavor, the best new hunting rifles for 2024 introduced this week at the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show in Las Vegas span the gamut.
The annual SHOT Show is the eighth-largest trade show in the country. Companies attend to show their new, updated and existing products in the hunting, shooting, ammunition, apparel and gear sectors. You’ll begin seeing these products, some of them soon, before the autumn hunting seasons roll around.
If you’re looking for a custom package in a factory rifle, the new Savage Arms 110 Ultralite Elite could be it. Savage teamed with several well known partners to create a premium rifle. It features a Proof Research carbon-fiber wrapped stainless stell barrel designed by Savage. The 110 Ultralite Elite also has a MDT HNT26 folding carbon fiber stock, forend with integrated ARCA rail, and buttstock with pistol grip. It weighs approximately 5 pounds, and the folding stock reduces the overall length by 9 inches when folded. The magnesium center section has a gunmetal gray Cerakote finish. The Latitude .22 LR from Proof Research is a custom rifle that could double up for hunting, camp use or competitive shooting. Maybe all of them. The Latitude has a fully adjustable carbon fiber stock, carbon fiber barrel threaded to handle a suppressor, and is fitted with a Zermatt Arms RimX action. Rossi USA introduces the R95 45-70 Government lever-action rifle, which has a cold-hammer forged barrel and compatibility with many aftermarket parts. The hand-finished action, which has a 5+1 capacity, includes a large loading gate for convenience and safety. An additional round can be chambered for total capacity of six rounds. The R95 has a hardwood walnut forend and stock, and is drilled and tapped for optics. It is available in three barrel lengths – 16.5, 20 and 22 inches. Info: rossiusa.com
Hammerli Arms Force B1
Hammerli Arms, founded in 1863 in Switzerland but now based in Germany, focused heavily on Olympic competition pistols for the last 100 years. This year, its new Force B1 rifle in .22 LR and .22 WMR options shows many of the top features Hammerli is known for. The Force B1 has a 10-shot capacity, M-LOK under handguard, toolless quick-change barrel system, straight-pull bolt action and more. Its ergonomic design allows for customization for length-of-pull and comb height. A threaded barrel provides the option for a suppressor. Ruger Collector’s Series 10/22
In celebration of six decades of the timeless 10/22 rimfire carbine, Sturm, Ruger & Co. is introducing its Collector's Series 60th Anniversary 10/22 Carbine. Accompanied by unique collector's memorabilia, this new rifle is a great way to start a 10/22 collection or add to an existing collection. The rifle features a stainless steel barrel and silver-finished receiver paired with a Gray Magpul Hunter X-22 stock. The blackened bolt is laser engraved with a unique 60th Anniversary marking. Christensen Arms MPR Rimfire
The Christensen Arms MPR Rimfire is coming in three chamberings: .17 HMR, .22 LR and .22 WSM along with three barrel lengths (16-, 18-, 20-inch) available for each caliber. It is fitted with a Christensen Arms Carbon Fiber Tension rimfire barrel. The rifle also has two different handguard lengths for each, along with three distinct color combinations. Gamo Vapor 10X
For airgun fans or those seeking something for young hunters, the new Gamo Vapor 10X .177 caliber multi-pump pneumatic airgun hits 1,200 feet per second. The rotary magazine holds 10 pellets. One pump yields 450 fps, while 10 pumps reaches max velocity of 1,200 fps. Savage Arms is introducing more than a dozen models in its 400 Legend straight-wall cartridge rifle.
