Benelli LUPO Bolt-Action

Perhaps the biggest news in the deer hunting rifle market this year is long-time Italian gunmaker Benelli entering the bolt-action rifle market with the new LUPO (Italian for wolf). A gun that has already received some outstanding reviews, the rifle features a 22-inch Crio free-floated barrel, the company’s Progressive Comfort recoil pad and CombTech cheek pad for a reduction in felt recoil, a fluted bolt, detachable box magazine, ambidextrous tang-mounted safety, an upper receiver that is drilled and tapped, and a user-adjustable trigger from 2.2 to 4.4 pounds. With Benelli’s Perfect Fitting System of shims, spacers, and pads, a custom fit for drop, cast, length of pull, and trigger reach is readily available for each rifle. Available in .30-06 Springfield, .270 Winchester and .300 Winchester Magnum chamberings for 2020. MSRP $1,699.99 | benelliusa.com

CVA Cascade

CVA Cascade

CVA, a longtime leader in muzzleloaders, has entered the bolt-action rifle market in 2020 with the new Cascade model. This hunting rifle features either a 4140 carbon steel barrel with a matte blue finish or a Cerakote finished barrel, both with a threaded muzzle. The receiver area features a 70-degree bolt throw, a two-position safety, and compatibility with all Savage 110 scope mounts. The stock uses a soft-touch synthetic model that is fiberglass reinforced and comes in either charcoal gray or Veil Wideland camo finish. Top the rifle off with the Cascade’s flush mount, four-round detachable magazine and dual front swivel studs and it’s easy to see CVA’s 50-years of gun making excellence built in. Available in 10 different calibers from .22-250 Varmint all the way up to .450 Bushmaster. MSRP $657.95 | cva.com

Mossberg Patriot Synthetic

SHOT2020
Mossberg Patriot Synthetic

Mossberg’s reputation for making rock-solid guns continues with the new Patriot Synthetic model. Chambered in four calibers including the 350 Legend, the new rifle checks in with a 4 + 1 capacity, a fluted barrel that measures 22 inches in length, and a 1:16 twist rate. With a matte blue barrel finish and a black synthetic stock, the Patriot Synthetic delivers no-frills efficiency, an affordable price, and an easy to carry weight of only 6.5 pounds. Yet again, it looks like the legendary American gunmaker has produced another sure-fire winner guaranteed to find its way into many deer stands next fall! MSRP $409 | mossberg.com
