Since its inception several years ago, Major League Fishing has pushed the envelope in changing tournament-fishing convention. Whether it’s no practice, real-time scoring, smaller fields, or smaller lakes, MLF has taken tournament bass fishing outside the box.
MLF once again forged new ground in tournament fishing during the final Survival Round at the 2016 Bass Pro Shops Challenge Select in Youngstown, Ohio, by taking the field of six competitors to a lake inside a gated community.
Similar to the previous Survival Round on Evans Lake, MLF officials enlisted the help of Aqua Ohio to gain access to another exclusive fishery called Pine Lake located inside a private neighborhood.
As the MLF Select caravan rolled through the elaborate gated guardhouse and down a road of lavish custom homes, the competitors knew it wasn’t going to be an ordinary fishing day.
