Airrus Nano Fusion Rods

Airrus Nano Fusion Rods

With a dedicated focus on innovation and technology, Airrus brought an interesting new series of rods to ICAST. Airrus claims there’s a recognizable difference in the performance and quality, while retaining a high degree of practicality in their rods.

The new Airrus rod series, called NANO FUSION, are made with the latest developments in carbon nanotube composite technology. Carbon nanotubes has been a buzz phrase for several years due to their benefits of being super strong and lightweight. You would have to go back all the way to 2005 when Airrus first introduced their carbon nanotube products into the fishing industry. Six years later, they’re still at it and may have raised the fishing rod technology bar a few notches.

Using this technology results in tougher rods with an improvement in sensitivity due a reduction in the amount of resin used and the increased nano fiber loadings. The increase in nano fiber loading is achieved by using a new process called carbon nanotube layering. Apparently, the new process is so special that they filled a provisional patent.

The base design for the new NANO FUSION series is extremely similar to that used in the existing PULSAR rod series utilizing Reverse Vibration Transfer (RVT), which is a megaphone effect on vibration created by the grip design to enhance the overall sensitivity of the rod.

The NANO FUSION series features an exclusive micro-guide system. One of the biggest differences with the Airrus micro-guide system is that not all the guides are the same. Airrus has addressed the entry angle of the line into the first guide. On the NANO FUSION series the first three guides are staggered in height and spaced to significantly reduce line drag, which translates into longer casts with less effort.

To top off this already feature rich series of rods, Airrus added an integrated weight port in the butt grip. The amount of weight can be customized to the exact need by adding or removing the threaded weights.

Nice job, Airrus. Where can I purchase a 7-foot heavy and a 7-foot medium heavy?
