From run-and-gun turkey hunting options to something a little more substantial, here are 10 blinds to consider this spring and beyond.

Turkey hunters often talk about run-and-gun hunting styles in which a hunter is making a series of calls, listening for a response and then heading on down the trail to either work a bird that is sounding off or to further the process of seeking a bird that will play the springtime game.

But sometimes, sitting still and staying in one place has its advantages too, either for an aging hunter just simply looking forward to a relaxing day in the woods, a dad introducing one of the kids to the joys of spring turkey hunting, or hoping to strike up a longbeard on a gray and dripping spring morning when the early fog and drizzle is making everything a bit on the damp side.

Make no mistake about it, we’ve got some quick-set hides profiled in this 2024 report on gobbler getting turkey blinds. But if a more traditional four-walled ground blind design is your plan for this spring and even on into next fall’s varied hunting possibilities, then we’ve also got a few other blind options that will fit the bill no matter what’s in season.

Alps Outdoorz Deception Blind

A high-quality piece of turkey gear, this low-profile blind has some built in DNA that is similar to the run-and-gun style Alps Outdoorz Dash Panel Blind that we profiled a year ago in this space. Except that this blind, which comes in both Mossy Oak Obsession (the official camo pattern of the National Wild Turkey Federation) and Mossy Oak Bottomland camo options, is the four-walled Alps Outdoorz Deception Blind, a blind with a small footprint thanks to a center height of 46 inches and a shooting width of 56 inches.

That means that this blind, along with its four aluminum hub design and strong, flexible fiberglass poles, is easy and quick to set up with minimal noise. Along with the 270-degree SILENT-Trac window system, and an extra-large door opening and oversized #10 zipper on that door, and even this four-wall design will work for mobile hunters seeking to tag a gobbler that has his track shoes on. And if those gobblers do indeed give you the slip, there’s two interior gear pockets to pack along a copy of Game & Fish Magazine to read in the meantime, along with a carry bag and shoulder strap to get you and your blind back to the truck easily.

Ameristep Care Taker Run & Gun Blind

Also a run-and-gun four-walled design, the Ameristep Care Taker Run & Gun Blind is a more portable version of Ameristep’s original Care Taker design. Checking in at 49.5 inches high and with a shooting width of 63 inches, the blind uses a Durashell Plus fabric shell with a matte finish and ShadowGuard coating (to eliminate shadows and silhouettes) to deal with the sun as it shines brightly.

With room for two hunters, this lightweight design will be perfect for a dad taking his son or daughter into the turkey woods and is mobile enough to transit to different blind locations as the day’s conditions dictate. And with the Spider Hub frame system providing sturdy and dependable set-up and take-down, all that’s left to do is celebrate after a longbeard goes down.

Barronett Blinds Face-Off Blind

A unique piece of gear that is tailor made to the mobile hunter, this Barronett Face-Off Blind works like a charm in the spring turkey woods thanks to its weight of only 12 pounds and easy set-up and take-down. Carry it in with the backpack set-up (along with the blind’s chair pocket), pop it open, set it up with the heavy duty and adjustable ground stakes, brush it up with stubble straps if you’d like, configure the quiet window attachments, combine it with a Ground Gobbler chair, and adjust the height between 48 and 64 inches, and you’re ready to go.

Perfect for spring turkey hunting chores this spring, this Barronett blind also can be paired with another Face-Off Blind to make for a waterfowling set-up this fall, or used for bowhunting and gun hunting whitetails where cover is sparse.

Browning Evade Hunting Blind

Starting with a center height of 5 feet, 10 inches and a shooting width of 74 inches, the Browning Evade Hunting Blind is an option that works for hunters toting a shotgun—or a rifle for whitetail hunters this fall—as well as bowhunters seeking to settle a sight pin on the vitals of a longbeard.

While this blind is a little heavier at 19 pounds, 8 ounces, it isn’t difficult to carry thanks to a carry bag with shoulder straps. Once you get where you’re going, it’s easy to set-up thanks to the aluminum hubs, fiberglass poles, and stakes and tie-downs that are provided. And with either Realtree Excape or Mossy Oak Country DNA camo, you’ll disappear in the woods once you’re set up.

Once inside the blind—with easy entry made possible thanks to a QUICKCONNECT double door design—there is a SILENT-TRAC window system, a blacked out backing to the 600D polyester fabric, and a ground skirt to help keep interior movement concealed. Once it’s time to shoot, you can move the curtains to open a shooting lane through the shoot-thru mesh.

Camo Systems Ground Blind

Some of the blinds examined here are a bit bigger and pull double duty through the seasons. But the Camo Systems Ground Blind is a simple, no frills blind that is 38 inches tall and up to 10 feet long when set-up, while packing down to an easy to carry package measuring 22 inches high and 3 inches in diameter when you’re ready to move.

Using Camo Systems’ reversible green/brown camo color combination 3-D Leaf Like Foliage, four collapsible fiberglass poles, a quiet and rustle free design, set-up accomplished in mere seconds, and a weight of just 1.5 pounds, and this just might be the ultimate minimalist style run-and-gun turkey hunting blind.

Muddy The Bale Blind

If hunting field turkeys is the norm for you each spring as you chase longbeards in Midwestern or southern agricultural fields, this Muddy The Bale Blind might help solve the problem of getting them into shotgun range.

While this is a larger blind for sure—it can double as a deer blind in the fall or even as a waterfowl blind—it easily adapts to whatever hunt you’re on. While not especially portable, it is one of the more rugged and versatile ground blinds you’ll utilize thanks to its powder-coated steel frame covered with water-resistant denier fabric, burlap, and vegetation straps. Checking in with dimensions of 82 inches wide, 64 inches long, and 73 inches high, there are various drop down windows and a blackened interior to aid in concealment from a turkey’s prying eyes.

At 90 pounds, you won’t be running and gunning with this blind. But when you’re in the right spot on that field edge, longbeards will virtually ignore this blind that looks like another hay bale in the farmer’s field. Better yet, so will a big buck this fall and a flock of big Canada geese honkers settling in during a December snowstorm.

Primos Double Bull Surround View Double Wide

Known as the Blind Without a Blind Spot, this unique ground blind has to be seen to be believed. Of course, the starting point for any look at the Primos Double Bull Surround View Double Wide is the 300 degrees of Surround View one-way see-through viewing capability that comes through four one-way see through walls with built in blackout curtains. I was blown away by this blind the first time I saw it on a trade show floor, and it’s even more amazing out in the field.

As for features beyond the see-through nature of this piece of gobbler gear, the blind’s Sun Visor gives a hunter maximum vision when the sun is low both early and late in the day. And with the zipper less Double Wide Door, entry into and exit from the blind is silent and then some.

A great option for the spring turkey woods, this blind—which also has a limited lifetime warranty—is also a top choice this fall for whitetail hunts, as long as you don’t want a big old longbeard or a wily old buck to know you’re there.

Redneck Soft Side 360 Degrees Burlap Deluxe Blind

Another stay-put and multi-dimensional blind that works great on field edges or routes guarding an inbound trail to an agricultural field, the Redneck Soft Side 360 Degrees Burlap Deluxe Blind, will excel in an leftover ag field turkey set-up this spring, a corn field or green field for whitetails this fall, or even a waterhole out west when cautious antelope are approaching in August or September.

Thanks to a spacious 6x6 interior, this blind will hold up to three adults—so you can bring the film crew if you like—or two adults and two kids for a family outing or mentored turkey hunt. With a durable bonded three-layer design comprised of natural burlap, rugged 600-denier woven fabric, and a rigid, tough, and water-resistant PVC backing, and this blind handles a variety of rough weather conditions while blending in well too.

With the three-layer design covering a heavy-duty, black powder-coated steel frame, this Redneck blind features windows and doors that are opened and closed with heavy duty zippers. Set-up or taken down in a little more than a half-hour thanks to an easy to bolt together frame, and this octagon frame blind is rugged, protects from the elements, and works in a wide variety of spring and fall hunting situations.

Rhino R75 Spring Steel Blind

A spring steel frame, pop-up type of blind, the Rhino R75 Spring Steel Blind is perfect for gobbler getters on the move, offering light weight and an ultra-quick set-up design when a loud mouthed gobbler is noisily making his way through the springtime woods.

Coming in either a Realtree Edge or a Mossy Oak Break Up Country camo, this Rhino blind offers a 66-inch center height when set-up, floor space measuring 60 x 60 inches, is only 11 pounds and is easily transported by the backpack carry bag system. With four zippered windows, simply work your way along the top of a ridge, ease along a field edge, or move through a mesquite flat and when you strike up a gobbler with your calling, the blind is up and ready to go in less than 60 seconds.

TIDEWE Hunting Blind See Through

A three to four person blind, the TIDEWE Hunting Blind See Through model starts with a camoed invisible design  that helps hunters stay concealed thanks to three full panels of one-way see through mesh fabric that offers a 270-degree unobstructed wide angle view.

Thanks to a pop-up design that allows for simple set-up or take-down in three minutes or less, this blind is roomy enough for two to four people and quiet enough thanks to noise-free sliding windows and a silent entry door system.

The blind’s roof doesn’t allow rain to get in, and the see-through walls keep moisture and wind penetration at a minimum. And with a lightweight carry bag, this blind is a breeze to get into and out of the turkey woods, to use in the deer woods, or even to carry on a high country September elk hunt next fall when you plan on sitting next to a waterhole as a record book elk bugles and closes in.
