Turkey Blind Options for 2024 and Beyond

Turkey hunters often talk about run-and-gun hunting styles in which a hunter is making a series of calls, listening for a response and then heading on down the trail to either work a bird that is sounding off or to further the process of seeking a bird that will play the springtime game.

But sometimes, sitting still and staying in one place has its advantages too, either for an aging hunter just simply looking forward to a relaxing day in the woods, a dad introducing one of the kids to the joys of spring turkey hunting, or hoping to strike up a longbeard on a gray and dripping spring morning when the early fog and drizzle is making everything a bit on the damp side.

Make no mistake about it, we’ve got some quick-set hides profiled in this 2024 report on gobbler getting turkey blinds. But if a more traditional four-walled ground blind design is your plan for this spring and even on into next fall’s varied hunting possibilities, then we’ve also got a few other blind options that will fit the bill no matter what’s in season.

Alps Outdoorz Deception Blind

A high-quality piece of turkey gear, this low-profile blind has some built in DNA that is similar to the run-and-gun style Alps Outdoorz Dash Panel Blind that we profiled a year ago in this space. Except that this blind, which comes in both Mossy Oak Obsession (the official camo pattern of the National Wild Turkey Federation) and Mossy Oak Bottomland camo options, is the four-walled Alps Outdoorz Deception Blind, a blind with a small footprint thanks to a center height of 46 inches and a shooting width of 56 inches.

Some of the blinds examined here are a bit bigger and pull double duty through the seasons. I was blown away by this blind the first time I saw it on a trade show floor, and it’s even more amazing out in the field.
