So many times in Jack Link’s Major League Fishing events, the outcome of a competition day is contested through the last cast. The beauty of the Cup event format is unlike traditional tournament settings, where the true drama and climactic apex is focused on who is going to be the champion. Major League Fishing, there is another focus.

In Elimination and Sudden Death Rounds, there’s less focus on deciding a winner and more put on which anglers will advance to the next round. At times, the battle for the last qualifying spot seems to be the most exciting.

In Elimination Round 2 of the 2016 General Tire Summit Cup in La Crosse, Wis., the identity of the top angler seemed to be revealed fairly early.
