As usual, the best new fishing gear of the year featured at the annual ICAST fishing trade show in Orlando has something for nearly every angler.
That's especially true in the trade show's New Product Showcase, in which more than 900 new products from more than 500 manufacturers were featured in this year's show in July.
From rods, reels and lures to hooks, lines and sinkers, new items in 30 categories were considered for Best of Category awards (as well as the overall Best of Show). While there was plenty of new gear not featured in the New Product Showcase, it represents the products that companies wanted anglers to see first.
After voting by media and other show attendees, 30 category winners were named, and then advanced to a final vote for Best of Show.

Newcomer PacBak Coolers stole the show by winning the top prize, an upset of sorts in a competition that's normally won by well-known manufacturers. PacBak's Best of Show winner , P88-MK Combo, is an all-in-one mobile kitchen that allows anglers to process their catch on the water or at camp.
Big companies also did well: Pure Fishing brands won nine Best of Category awards, while AFTCO won four, and Garmin, Simms, Z-Man and Shimano each won two.
