Ultra Tungsten Dropshot Weights
Ultra Tungsten makes a variety of fishing weights out of 97% tungsten. The high amount of tungsten helps ensure the most weight possible in the smallest size, as well as make the weights hard and durable.
The Ultra Tungsten dropshot weights are built with the thought of using the same weight for a lifetime. They are made of tungsten with a strong high quality wire. To top it off, the weights are coated with a chip resistant finish.
The weights have a clean and sharp packaging, small in size, and they are even have a dark coating leaving them very sleek. I would like to see a little more info on the packaging for those who have not dropshot fished before.
Packing the same weight but half the size of traditional lead, these weights are as sleek as a stealth jet. Dark in color, these weights do exactly what they should - allow for perfect bait placement without being noticed. The fact that they are environmentally friendly just tops off the list of great features.
At $6.49 for a pack of 4 round weights and $7.49 for a pack of 4 1/4oz. cylinder weights is more expensive than a traditional weight. I have no doubt the price of tungsten is higher than lead but at the end of the day they are still more money. The perk of Ultra Tungsten is the size. Ounce for ounce, Ultra Tungsten weights are significantly smaller in size compared to the same ounce weights in a lead form. That was especially nice when fishing in rocky or snaggy situations. The smaller profile escaped those rough snags and allowed me more fishing time and saved a lot of weights. With that said, the super tough chip resistant coating stayed on while pounding on rocks and left my weight in great condition at the end of the day. You need to decide if the price and the perks of Ultra Tungsten outweigh the price of traditional weights.
