Coming this January, World Fishing Network, the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers throughout North America, introduces two new original productions – Shorelines with April Vokey and Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before You Die.

Shorelines with April Vokey premieres Saturday, Jan. 10 at 11:30 a.m. ET, while Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before You Die debuts Sunday, Jan. 11 starting at 12 p.m. ET.

Discovering a passion for fly fishing in her teens, April Vokey ( has since dedicated her life to the pursuit, culminating in her founding of Fly Gal Adventures ( in 2007 at age 24. April has established herself as a respected authority in the sport and traveled the globe in pursuit of game fish on a fly rod. Her writing has appeared in numerous industry publications, including Fly Fisherman, Fly Rod & Reel and Fly Fusion magazines, and she has been featured as a host on Fly Nation TV.

Travel across the wilds of Canada as April and her companions set normal life aside and venture off on a journey to document and discover stories, myths and legends for April’s upcoming book covering the history of steelhead and Atlantic salmon fly fishing in North America. Determined, committed and driven to achieve her lifelong dream of authoring this book, Shorelines with April Vokey steps into the river and between the lines to face the unknown of life on the road – from fickle weather and wildlife to meeting an array of diverse personalities – both on and off the water.

Author Chris Santella has amassed a list of premiere fly fishing destinations from across the globe in his book, Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before You Die (one of the most successful fly fishing books of the new millennium with over 120,000 hard cover copies sold), and his follow-up, Fifty More Places to Fly Fish Before You Die. Both highlight what makes each location so special and are underscored by a colorful cast of fly fishing luminaries who help explain the allure of each of these extraordinary venues.

Hosted by Conway Bowman (, recognized for his pioneering efforts to catch mako sharks on a fly rod along the coast of Southern California, Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before You Die not only travels to the locations but will often visit with the anglers who recommended the destinations featured in the book, providing both insider knowledge and a strong sense of the intangible appeal of each setting. Bowman, whose name is synonymous with extreme fly fishing and has authored The Orvis Guide to Beginning Saltwater Fly Fishing and traveled the world in search of Atlantic salmon, wild trout, redfish, bonefish and tarpon. In fact, he currently holds the IGFA world record for redfish caught on the fly.

Season One of Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before You Die ventures to 12 of the fabled destinations contained within the pages of the two books, ranging from the LeTort Spring in Carlisle, Penn. to the wilds of Bristol Bay and the Kvichak River in Alaska. Conway revels in the true character of each destination not only through fishing, but by exploring the history of the fishery, its cultural attributes and more, leaving viewers inspired to gear up and pack their bags for a new adventure.
