Founded by the inventors of the Rage broadhead and Ravin crossbows, Trika is a relatively new name in the fishing industry. We were introduced to their impressive 6X carbon fiber rod series in 2024. This year, Trika brought to market the 10X, its most advanced fishing rod to date and its new flagship rod series.
I first encountered the 10X series when it was introduced at the ICAST show in Orlando back in July. Holding the 10X rod in hand in the Trika booth, the incredibly light feel and overall balance convinced me this was a rod series worthy of our time and consideration.
The “10X” name refers to the 10X carbon-fiber weave, which not only looks great along the rod blank but helps reduce the rod's weight while providing added hoop strength in the blank when battling a heavy bass.
Though a bass rod’s appearance won’t help you catch more fish, eye appeal certainly factors into the buying decision. The crosshatch, all-black finish with tasteful orange and silver accents gives the Trika 10X series a “tactical” look and suggests that a premier fishing experience awaits the user. The crosshatch carbon-fiber handle contributes to the eye appeal while bolstering the rod’s overall performance.

The hollow handle, which Trika refers to as their “EkkoChamber” technology, is designed to maximize sensitivity in the angler’s hands. Sensitivity is further enhanced due to the absence of cork or EVA foam that might dampen any feel. One might assume the hardened carbon material lacks the warm feel of cork or foam, yet that’s not the case. Additionally, the textured crosshatch pattern provides a solid grip, even with wet hands.
My experience with the 7-foot 3-inch heavy-action casting rod affirms Trika’s intent in maximizing sensitivity from the carbon-fiber construction of the blank and handle. I was fortunate to catch countless spotted bass in water as deep as 40 feet on a vibrating blade bait. I could easily detect the subtle vibrations of the lure in deep water, as well as when the bass slapped at the bait before inhaling it.
The handle length of almost 11.75 inches, measured from the back of the baitcasting reel, isn’t awkwardly long; however, it's about 1.5 inches longer than I would prefer. However, the slightly longer handle provides impressive overall balance to the rod and offers increased leverage when setting the hook or battling a bass to the boat.

The heavy action of the 10X rod has the appropriate strength to horse a big bass away from cover, but I also appreciate the deep, parabolic bend Trika has built into this rod series. The deep-flex design of the blank allows the rod to flex well into the mid-section of the rod when fighting a fish, dispersing the load throughout the rod to help keep them pinned. Of course, this parabolic bend isn’t unique to Trika, but it has become the action I desire in a fishing rod.
Lastly, Fuji titanium guides with Torzite inserts complete the list of premium components adorning the 10X rod.
In getting acquainted with the Trika brand over the past couple of years, I've been impressed with their forward-thinking and innovative design elements, bringing a premium product to market without becoming a “me-too” copycat. If you’re in the market for a premier fishing rod, the 10X is worthy of consideration.
