Top Dog: Savage 110 Apex Predator XP

The affordably priced package rifle comes ready to hunt, and that's bad news for coyotes.

Top Dog: Savage 110 Apex Predator XP

The Apex Predator features an adjustable length of pull and user adjustable trigger. Superb fit means fewer variables and improved accuracy.

Whitetail fawns have hit the ground and that means coyotes are out looking for an easy meal.

The best way to ensure that the big buck you could be hunting five years from now doesn’t get snatched up by a song dog today is to spend this time keeping your local coyote population in check, and Savage has just the tool to help with that task — its new Model 110 Apex Predator XP package rifle.

The 110 Apex XP combines a Savage 110 rifle with a Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x44 scope that has already been pre-mounted and bore-sighted on an EGW 0 MOA rail.

Simply buy a few boxes of ammo, finish dialing in the scope, and you’re ready to hunt. The Apex rifle comes with a durable Mossy Oak synthetic stock that features removable spacers for adjusting length of pull. Barrel length is either 20 or 24 inches (depending upon caliber), and the 110 Apex Predator’s carbon steel fluted barrel comes with a threaded and capped muzzle.

And, like all Savage 110 rifles, the Apex Predator is equipped with a barrel nut that allows for very precise head spacing, which, in turn, makes this rifle extremely accurate.

The included Vortex Crossfire II Scope comes with a Dead-Hold BDC reticle that helps take the guesswork out of holdover and windage adjustments, and these rifles come equipped with Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger and a detachable box magazine.

Apex models equipped with a 20-inch barrel have an overall length of just 40.5 inches, and that makes these guns very maneuverable in a blind or in dense cover.

Available chamberings include .204 Ruger, .223 Remington, .22-250 Remington, .243 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester, so the Apex Predator XP can also double as a deer and hog rifle — making this $739 scope/rifle combo an even better bargain.
