The Craziest Ocean Fishing Adventures Ever Caught On Tape

Grabbing a rod and reel and hitting the open sea with a group of friends to fish is all about one word: adventure. The quest to reel in that monster fish and enjoy the great outdoors is enough to scratch the thrill-seeking itch in all of us. More often than not, we come back from a trip with some good memories, but nothing that would go so far as to inspire another Jaws sequel. However, on occasion, we have that ultimate adventure that never leaves us. Lucky for us, some of those times were caught on tape by some lucky anglers.

The Kayak Fishing Show with Jim Sammons has seen its fair share of saltwater giants, but nothing compares to the five-hour battle depicted in the video above. Such a fight will make you appreciate the advantages of a power boat the next time you go out for billfish.

If fishing for sharks from a standup paddleboard isn't an adventure, than nothing is. The angler in the video above seeks the ultimate thrill, and overcomes it as he brings the shark right up on his lap!

WFN's own Mariko Izumi got more than she bargained for while filming a tarpon fishing episode in Boca Grande, Florida. Tarpon may be big fish, but even they are nothing but snacks for hungry sharks.

The crew of The Real Fishing Show with Bob Izumi reel in a massive blue shark and are tasked with bringing it in the boat for a clean release. The methods they take to subdue this giant fish is both funny and terrifying, considering the size of this toothed sea creature.

In search of the world's most feared animal, a group of anglers hit the beach to bring in a great white shark right to shore. Kudos to the guy chosen to paddle out amongst the sharks to set the bait.
