Ted Nugent And Outdoor Channel Enter Into Exclusive Endorsement Agreement
Outdoor Channel, America's leader in outdoor TV, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive multi-year endorsement agreement with lifelong outdoorsman and rock 'n' roll legend Ted Nugent. The deal will span all media, including broadcast and web, and is set to start in January 2011.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nugent will be heavily involved in Outdoor Channel's promotional efforts, highlighting the network's unique relationship with hunters, marksmen and beyond. He will be tasked with serving as the new host of Outdoor Channel's Tuesday night primetime programming block, in addition to making special guest appearances at top consumer events and trade shows. Nugent will also provide fresh content for its comprehensive web site, OutdoorChannel.com.
"Ted Nugent is a marquee personality and we're delighted to expand our longstanding relationship, which spans over a decade, as he takes on a prominent brand ambassador role," said Tom Hornish, Chief Operating Officer at Outdoor Channel. "Ted is an outdoor icon who will bring a greater level of recognition and appeal to the network as it continues to engage audiences with its unique connection to the biggest on-air celebrities in the outdoor entertainment industry."
"The quality of my amazing American Dream is due in great part to the powerful role my hunting lifestyle and the higher level of awareness it has provided me. I am very proud to join forces with the respected Outdoor Channel family to take this celebration to maximum heights," commented Nugent. "I salute them for creating such a wonderful environment to pay homage to the outdoor lifestyle."
Ted Nugent has certainly earned his status as an American icon. He's popularized bowhunting in America. He’s sold over 35 million hard-hitting rock albums. He's a New York Times best-selling author. And he's known for his bold commentary on issues ranging from the American Dream to the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. A devoted hunter since the age of five, for Nugent, hunting is not a sport… it's a way of life. And just like hunting is an integral part of American culture, he believes that the condition of the air, soil and water represents a barometer by which a society's health and priorities can be measured. When it comes to philanthropy, he has been commended for his Kamp for Kids and Freedom's Angels foundations, along with his work as a national spokesman for Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), the United Service Organizations (USO), Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Pass It On Outdoor Mentors Program.
Currently, Nugent is host of a wildly popular Outdoor Channel series named after his hit song "Spirit of the Wild" from his eleventh studio album. On the show, the Detroit-native celebrates hunting, fishing, trapping, shooting sports and proactive wildlife and environmental stewardship. The documentary-style program takes viewers on a variety of wild game hunts, featuring archery, hunter safety and the fundamentals of outdoor recreation.
"Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild" has been honored several times over as the recipient of Outdoor Channel's Golden Moose Awards, including "Fan Favorite Hunting Series" and "Fan Favorite Show Hosts."
