Task 22: Ultimate Type of Fishing, A true ''Toss up'' Task

This Task wasn't easy for me. Ifwe had  coldwaterTrout fly-fishing opportunities closer to home, it would be fly fishing handsdown. There is nothing like standing in that cold stream, surrounded by MotherNature. In my opinion Fly Fishing is an Art.A skill that is nearly forgotten butregaining on popularity. More and more women are seen casting a Fly. For my ownvictory I caught my very first Large Mouth Bass on a Fly. I can?t wait to do itagain. What does one need for this Sport: Fly rod and a selection of flies forwhat you looking to catch. That is pretty much all you need to start. I wouldstrongly suggest looking for your local Fly Fishing Club and try to take somelessons. Trust me, it looks so easy but is different then a conventional rod.Sad truth is for cold stream fly-fishing I have to travel a minimum of 3 ½hours. With that said onto my ??other ?? passion.

 Saltwater Kayak Fishing

When I started all I was interestedin was kayaking. Fishing was not on my radar. Good thing I bought a versatileKayak that adapted to my fishing addiction. Fishing from a kayak is unique; Ican go into places a motorboat can?t go. There are many features that wouldtrump over a motorboat any day. One of the biggest advantages right now is, nogas needed. 100% human power. (There are some Kayaks available with electricmotors now). My Kayak of choice is the Native Ultimate Tegris 12. Which is anultra light Hybrid. It is not a sit inside or a sit on top. With the wide hullthis kayak is extremely stable and one can stand up for fly-fishing or sightcasting. (For a Woman these ultra light Kayaks are ideal, no man needed forloading and unloading) Kayakers tend not to need trailers either , mosttransport their Kayaks on top of their cars or trucks. Do to the quiet nature of kayaking, people get to get upclose to a lot of wild life. To me that is a bonus of kayak fishing. Myfavorite-targeted fish is the Red Drum; the Red Drum tends to feed on the Flatsa lot. Once again, I can literally be on top of that fish in my Kayak. All Ineed is a few inches of water.
The following items are needed forKayak fishing.
Paddle ? Trust me it pays to investin a good lightweight paddle
 PFD ? Personal Floating Device
 1 or 2-Rod Holders
1 Milk Crate for holding your tackleand extras
A Two Way Radio or Cell phone in awaterproof floating container.
These are just basic items that Iwould consider the minimum to get started with. As with many things, you getwhat you pay for in a Kayak. My Kayak was $2000; I would buy it again andagain. For me it was the right choice. She is the Cadillac down to the cupholder
Once again I would suggest you seekout you local Kayaking Club or if none are near pick up a book about Kayakfishing.

I would recommend Cory Routh?s BookKayak Fishing The complete Guide (also available with a Video) //www.ruthlessfishing.com/Order-My-Book-and-DVD.php

Please check your local lawsregarding kayaking. Here in Virginia you do not need to register your non-motorizedKayak, however as soon as you put an electric motor on a kayak it has to be registeredjust like a boat. Also make sure you check the legal limits for the fish youare targeting.

Please remember to take your Children fishing, they are our next Generation Angler
