Spincast Reel/Rod

There is often some confusion surrounding spincast reels, and it likely has to do with the fact that they blend some of the feature of both spinning and baitcast reel. Spincast reels wrap the line around a parallel spool (similar to spinning reels) but they sit on top of the rod (similar to baitcast reels). The spool is encased inside an egg shaped housing that funnels the line through a small hole. These reels feature a push button that releases the line from the spool. This makes them ideal for children. Spincast rods have a molded handle and are usually short in length so that they can by easily used by children.
