Southeast Florida Fishing Report ? Week 2? October 2012Offshore on the troll, Dorado, Wahoo and BFT were in 125-400 feet. The best Dorado bites came around flotsam, weeds and birds. Kingfish were scattered in 80-200 feet. Skirted Ballyhoo, strip baits, and artificials worked well. Some Sailfish are showing up closer in. The dark side swordfish bite remains consistent.On the reefs and wrecks, Yellowtail Mangrove and Mutton Snapper, Kingfish, Triggerfish, Jacks, Grouper and Bonito were in 40-200 feet. Sardines, pilchards, and cut baits got bites.Near shore, along the beaches, piers, inlets and the Intracoastal Waterway, bait was plentiful with mullet along the beaches. Blue fish, Spanish mackerel,  Blue Runners, Snappers, and Jacks, were taking cut baits, mullet, shrimp, pilchards, and spoons and gotcha lures. Tarpon were chasing mullet. The best Snook action was around docks, bridges at night.In freshwater lakes are still producing well. The water level continues to hold high allowing bass to moved deeper into the grasses. Live shiners, swim baits, and frogs are bringing in good numbers up to the 7 pound range.Tight Lines, Bent Poles, and Screaming Drags!!!Stay Salty My Friends!!!!
