SENKO SIMPLICITY

SENKO SIMPLICITY
SENKO SIMPLICITY
Weightless wacky, does it get any easier? It doesn't, tie on the hook and slide the Senko on.  One of the most productive soft plastics I've used. The Bass don't seem to mind it either.

Today I experienced Senko Simplicity.

I headed out trying to get set up before a storm hit. Once I was in the water I only managed to get a couple casts in as the wind was picking up and the thunder was starting roar from a distance.

I tucked into a small bay and tied off to a tree. I put my rain suit on and organized my stuff so it wouldn't blow away. I had a quick peanut butter and jam sandwich before the rain started.

It was windy and it rained but the storm wasn't as bad as I thought.

After things let up a bit I wanted to make sure that was it,  before I headed back out. I decided to toss a Senko around while I was waiting.

A couple casts and I caught a small Bass. I thought hmm there's some Bass hanging around here. I keep casting.

Another small one.

I caught another one, a little bigger this time. I just kept tossing it out, weightless, wacky. I guess I had to go through the small Bass to find the bigger one.

That was a decent Bass.

Four fish in ten minutes on one bait.  There was some small ones but the big girl at the end made it well worth it.

The storm was gone, still windy though I headed out to try and find some more Bass. We had a lot of rain last night and the temperature dropped 20 degrees. The Bass weren't on the drop offs or in the lilly pads. I headed for a Beaver Hut.

I pulled that one out first. Beavers make a ditch under water so they have a way in and out during the freeze. Those areas are great for dropping the bait into.

I caught another Bass. You can see the Beaver Hut in the back round. I just kept tossing into the pockets around the hut.

I pulled this Bass out of some branches, that was tricky but I managed.

That's a four inch Senko.

The Sun Fish were in on the action too.

The fish really inhale the Senko, that makes for a good hook set. You need a good hook set if your going to be pulling Bass out of a mess of branches.

I caught a Pike fishing around another Beaver Hut.

I had a couple good blow ups with a Buzz Bait. However tonight was all about Senko Simplicity.
