when I think of Red Devil Delight, I think of a cake. When Pike think of Red Devil Delight , wait, Pike don't think, they attack and destroy what ever is in their path. This morning I headed to battle the elements and do some Gator hunting.

The North East wind brought some cool crappy weather and of course I forgot my rain jacket. Luckily I had a couple umbrellas in my car, so I made a little shelter.

Water temps are still a little cool in my area so top water was out. For me there is nothing more exciting than burning a Buzz Bait or maneuvering a Zara Spook through the weeds only to have a Pike crush it.  Of all the lures I had, I decided to throw on a Red Devil. It was one that I picked up at the dollar store. Ya I paid $1.15 for the lure. The nice thing about Pike is they don't care how much you paid for the lure, they just want to destroy it.

The Red Devil technique is simple, cast it out and reel it in. This time of year with not much vegetation you can run the Devil through the shallows with out worrying about weeds. That is how I caught all my Pike this morning.

You have to appreciate the fierceness of this predator species.

It was nice to get re-acquainted with the Pike, I am looking forward to spending more time trying to tame the nature of the beast.
