Summer fishing has yielded more state records certified by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

Dustin Noble of Gothenburg set the underwater spearfishing record by taking a redear sunfish at a private sandpit in Buffalo County. The fish, taken on Sept. 4, weighed 1 pound, 4 ounces and was 10¾ inches long. That fish broke the record Noble had set on July 3 at the same sandpit - by 2 ounces.

Also on July 3, Noble set the underwater spearfishing record by taking a 13-ounce hybrid sunfish that measured 9.7 inches in length.

Marlyn Wiebelhaus of Wynot set the state archery record on Aug. 12 when he took a 67-pound, 14-ounce grass carp at Buckskin Hills Lake in Dixon County. The fish was 52 inches long.
