Potential IGFA World Record Catches - Gulf Flounder, Chevron Snakehead, Chao Phraya Catfish

The IGFA has just released another batch of potential all-tackle world record catches. Check them out!

Gulf flounder

On Oct. 4, Charlie I. Aman was fishing in North Carolina?s Bogue Sound when he landed a monster gulf flounder. The fish weighed in at 7 lbs, 2 oz, and measured an impressive 71.12 cm.

Chevron snakehead

Gerhard Terblanche was fishing the Tseng Wen Reservoir in Taiwan on Oct. 8 when he caught a potential all-tackle world record chevron snakefish. It weighed in at 7 lbs, 14 oz, and measured in at 64 cm. If you look closely at the photo, you can see that Terblanche also appeared to get the hook stuck in his finger ? what better way to take your mind off of the pain than with a potential world record catch?

Chao phraya catfish

Finally, on Nov. 9, a behemoth chao praya catfish was caught in Gillham?s Fishing Resorts in Thailand by Dick Top. Using sardines as bait, he managed to land a 121 lb, 4 oz monster that measured in at 137.3 cm.
