Spring is in full swing and we're talking deer and 'Planting for the Future' this week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav presented by Outdoor ChannelSportsman Channel and World Fishing Network. This week the boys will discuss how to plant and maintain food plots, use of minerals, habitat management tools, prescribed burning, tree planting and creating the ultimate wildlife sanctuary, and why Hunting Co-ops are the wave of the future for all hunters and conservationists.

Lee Lakosky from Crush with Lee & Tiffany, Sundays at 7:30 p.m. ET on Outdoor Channel, will school us with tried and true whitetail management practices that are guaranteed to grow monster bucks and lots of them. Lee's obsession with chasing whitetails, coupled with his inquisitive nature and strong work ethic, has garnered him much fame and attention on television and in the field. His conscientious and efficient land management practices have produced astounding results year after year. Lee explains that off-season whitetail prep is where fall's success primarily lies and that without a strategic, comprehensive, plan of attack and the foresight to see it through, your chances of tagging a behemoth wall hanger is slim at best. Lee equates whitetail management to the art of golf and he says that nobody ever shows up to the Masters to practice, but rather to play hard and win, and that hunting is no different. Perfect your hunting game and improve habitat during the spring and summer months and if all goes right, you'll reap the fruits of your labor when the season opens up.  Don't miss Lee's in-depth two-part interview and your chance to learn from one of the greatest wildlife stewards of the 21st century.

Freddy Harteis is the Hollywood Hunter from Sportsman Channel, but he's as country as a chicken coop and a die-hard conservationist, to boot. Freddy and his family purchased the Harteis Ranch in Colorado, back in the mid 90's, and their ultimate goal from the get-go was to rebuild the area’s dwindling mule deer numbers and to one-day offer trophy mule deer hunts. And that's exactly what they did. Freddy characterizes their mule deer rebuilding success as a constant work in progress and that predator management has been, and will stay, at the forefront of their practice. Freddy says that 20 years ago you could glass and glass for days and never see a mule seer, but after they formulated and carried out an extensive predator management program, seeing 100 plus mule deer bucks a day is the new norm. Freddy, wholeheartedly believes that predators are crucial to the balance of our ecosystem, but if left unchecked their carnage would be unfathomable. Freddy is a sheer delight to watch in the Hollywood Hunter seen on Sportsman Channel and a blast to listen to, as well.

Dr. Grant Woods of Growing Deer TV has mastered the land management craft and has now set his sights on educating the masses to do the same, but in unison. Dr. Woods is pioneering an all-new trend called a "Hunting Co-op" and he says that it's the future of wildlife management. A Hunting Co-op is formed when a community of joining neighbors unites to implement the same hunting and habitat practices and police any unwanted activity with vigilance. No money ever exchanges hands and there is no paperwork to deal with, just a verbal agreement and a commitment to see it through. Dr. Woods furthers his support of Hunting Co-ops by explaining the added rewards that are attributed with them. First of all, Grant illustrates, that a Hunting Co-op extends the sanctuary footprint to a far grander scale and aside from the added aid of nutrients and water, it provides safety from the outside world. Dr. Woods has a firsthand account of how a Hunting Co-op can overcome and undo years of neglect and poor management and you'll have to hear his story to believe it.
