Panko Crusted Basa

A species of catfish from Southeast Asia, basa is growing in popularity in the US, and it tastes great with Japanese breadcrumbs

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 pieces of basa
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons dill spice, fresh is best
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/4 cup dill relish

Directions:

Heat oven on 400 degrees.

Mix breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and dill spices together.


Dredge each piece of fish in flour, shake excess flour off and dip in the egg/water mixture then dip in panko breadcrumbs.


Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and place pieces of fish on your cookie sheet.

Bake in the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes until the crust is a golden brown color.

While fish is baking, prepare your sauce by mixing the mayo and dill relish together.
