Joining us will be Nate Hosie of Headhunters TV with an emphasis on mentoring new hunters and shooters and teaching the importance of conservation and ethics. Then Michael Brooks, who is the Managing Member & CEO of The Joe Brooks Foundation for Conservation and Outdoor Education, will touch on the 90-minute feature-length documentary called Finding Joe Brooks that is set to air Father's Day weekend on Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network. Finally, Yamaha's ATV and Side-by-Side Marketing Manager, Steve Nessl will drop an off-road bomb and detail the unveiling and launch of the all-new 2019 Wolverine X2 and YXZ Side-by-Sides and Grizzly. This week's outdoor Father's Day salute is presented by Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel, World Fishing Network and MyOutdoorTV.

Nate Hosie is the co-host of HeadHunters TV on Outdoor Channel and viewers can look forward to an all new season starting in July on Thursday evenings. This week, we’re saluting all the dads out there, as Father’s Day is only a week away. Nate Hosie is a dad and says it’s the best thing he’s ever done or been apart of in his entire life. Fathers play an important role in the lives of burgeoning outdoorsmen and women as they are often the person introducing kids to the outdoor lifestyle and teaching them the guidelines. Nate says that the next generation should always be forefront in our minds and we should be promoting good hunting ethics with a strong emphasis on respect for the land, respect for the animals, and respect for the law.

Nate dishes his advice for getting newbies started in shooting and says that selecting the right firearm for any kid requires the parent, guardian or instructor to decide what that person is safely capable of shooting. Once you come to a decision, Nate stresses the importance of first teaching them firearm safety, to keep themselves and others around them safe, before they are ever allowed to shoot. Depending on their age and physical capabilities, Nate says that a .22 caliber rifle is a great place to start for almost any age because it’s fun to shoot and not physically punishing on your shoulder like some larger caliber rifles. As an avid archer, Nate also gives his take on when to introduce kids to bowhunting and why crossbows are becoming very popular with younger shooters. Finally, if you’re planning a father/daughter or father/son hunt this fall, Nate weighs in with where to start. He admits he has hunted a lot of incredible places and has had the opportunity to take awesome animals but says he wants his son’s first experience hunting to be in the same hills and woods where he got his start. Nate recommends finding out what species intrigues the child your mentoring the most and then planning a hunt based off of their interests. He’ll highlight how important it is to make it a positive and fun experience and also reminds hunters that it’s all about enjoying the outdoors. All too often hunters feel the industry pressures of making sure they only take a mature animal with an impressive rack. Nate says to throw all of that out the window and instead let your kid tag the animal they want and focus more on having fun and teaching the foundation of hunting skills and ethics. Tune in for this Father’s Day centered feature with Nate Hosie from HeadHuntersTV.

Debuting Father’s Day weekend on Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network will be the documentary Finding Joe Brooks. Joe Brooks is largely considered the “Father of Modern Fly Fishing” and this documentary explores his life, the triumphs and tribulations that he experienced on his way and the woman that made him a better man and helped to put him on the path to becoming the revered sportsman he is today. Michael Brooks is the Managing Member and CEO of The Joe Brooks Foundation for Conservation and Outdoor Education, and he joins us this week to talk about the film and Joe Brooks’ contributions to fly fishing. From the creators of this documentary: “In his 71 years Joe Brooks lived three lifetimes. From his privileged youth to a broken alcoholic to one of the most revered sportsmen of his time, Joe’s life is as complex as it is inspirational. Few people manage to change themselves in any meaningful way. But Joe did and in doing so, he changed the world. To appreciate Joe’s impact on the world of fly fishing, it is important to understand the man who spent his life sharing his passion with anyone who would listen. To document his extraordinary tale, the Joe Brooks documentary team will capture the story of Brooks as told by the friends and family who knew him best on the very waters that Joe loved most. Few knew Joe prior to his successful years as an outdoor writer. Delving deep into Joe’s troubled past as he struggled to find his way will offer insight into the man who is known and loved around the globe. Joe’s addictive personality nearly killed him but it’s that very flaw that fed his obsession with fly fishing.” Don’t miss this documentary airing Father’s Day weekend!

Prepare for loads of awesome coming your way because Yamaha just released some brand new 2019 offerings and Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s ATV and Side-by-Side Marketing Manager, is here to unpack it all for us! Introducing the Wolverine X2 the newest member of the Wolverine family. This 2019 Wolverine X2 isn’t just a 2-seat version of the wildly popular Wolverine X4 – it’s more compact and nimble which make it well equipped to take on tight trails with ease. In addition, it’s also built to work. A 600-pound capacity dump box and 2,000-pound tow rating really drive home the working capability of this X2 and meet the demands of more buyers as it allows drivers to load and haul a tremendous amount of cargo and offload it with ease. The 847cc twin engine with Ultramatic Transmission gives drivers plenty of power and torque, all the while offering a vibration free and incredibly quiet ride that the Wolverine has become known for. The X2 has a well-damped suspension for improved control and handling thanks to shocks that offer a flexible, balanced ride regardless of your intent, work or play. Steve notes that the Yamaha R-Spec will no longer be offered in model year 2019, but don’t sweat it because the 2019 Wolverine X2 R-Spec will fill that void. The X2 offers the same fantastic creature comforts that we know and love from the X4. It’s roomy, sports high-backed seats, automotive style seat belts, cup holders, adjustable driver seat and steering column and more. The cabin is plush, comfortable and safe. What more could you ask for? Well, Yamaha takes it to the next level by pre-wiring the X2 for Yamaha’s exclusive "Adventure Pro Ready" GPS system. This system is also brand new, and Steve will walk us through the highpoints. Powered by Magellan, this system provides GPS capability, social sharing from the trail, and it’s portable so you can take it home and sync it to your computer. The Yamaha Adventure Ready Pro combines several functions into a 7-inch full color display. So, you can search for trails on the already preloaded U.S Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management maps as well as tap into an extensive amount of user generated trails. It will allow you to download, record and share your trail routes with others, too. Furthermore, the system also communicates with the Wolverine’s ECU to display vehicle data and warnings. Find out more about the Wolverine X2, plus other all-new product releases from Yamaha, this week on The Revolution.
