OTHER THAN CHRISTMAS, WHATS IN SEASON
As the Christmas count down begins you might want to take a step away from the unorganized chaos, also known as Christmas shopping(I hate it). If you want to get away from it, grab your fishing gear and get outta town. Even though it might be cold and windy and snowing and the bite will likely be a minimum, its better than standing in line waiting to spend a fortune while the person next to you continues to cough all over you and there is beads of sweat running down your forehead, you know what I mean. Heres whats in season in my area, region 18 and 20.Bass will be shutting down in a few days(Nov.30) until the end of June.
Some other species are Rainbow, Brown, and Brook Trout are open all year, we don't get alot of them around here. Lake Trout is closed until the 4th Saturday in May.Perch is a littlre tricky, it says open all year round, but you have to read the exceptions because its open in some parts and closed in others.Sturgeon and Atlantic Salmon are closed all year.I recently spoke with the MNR and the new regulations for 2011 should be out sometime in December. Be sure to check the new regulations before you head out fishing after December 31, 2010.
