My Greatest Day Fishing: Largemouth in a Pond

When I started trying to think about my greastest day fishing, I discovered that would be a very hard decision. I have had many great outings with family and friends, so picking one is a very difficult thing to do. Finally i settled on the day I caught my biggest largemouth bass to date. It was mid-July two years ago at a friends farm pond. It was in the evening and temperatures were still in the high 80's, but that didn't seem to bother the fish. I was fishing with a green and yellow buzzbait around standing timber and bushes in the middle of the pond. On my second cast I landed right tight agaist a tree, and on the lures impact the water exploded around it!!!! I was so surprised that i nearly missed my hook set. I fought the bass for ten minutes in and out of cover surrounding her lair. Finally I landed a 26inch 8 pound monster of a bass. After a few pictures I released the giant bass back into the pond. I later entered my catch in the In-Fisherman trophy fish contest, and later was recognized with a certificate and a patch. To this day that has been my biggest bass, and will forever be one of my greatest days fishing.
