Most Dangerous Ways to Fish

Fishing is a relaxing time for many anglers, a fun sport where the only stress that comes about is in exact proportion to how well the fish are biting. But that's just the stereotype. In reality, fishing can be so much more than just a simple rod and reel: ?it can even be a little dangerous. Here are seven fishing videos that show off some of the most extreme ways to fish around the world.

Noodling for Catfish

WFN's Mark Melnyk tries out a fishing style growing in popularity. Noodling, or "grabbing" involves reaching your hand into the water and allowing a catfish to bite you as you wrestle it to the surface. The possibility for drowning and loss of fingers are very real risks.

Shark Fishing From Stand Up Paddle Board

Most people prefer to fish for shark from the safety of a boat, or at least on a pier that adds some kind of buffer from the sea. This angler instead reels in a thresher shark inches from the ocean ? with only his bare hands to land his catch.

Extreme Kayak Fishing

Kayak expert angler Jim Sammons takes his boat where few dare to try in pursuit of fish. In this video he fights off the waves as he casts right up against some unforgiving cliffs.

Spearfishing With Sharks

Humans aren't the only ones trying to catch dinner under the sea, as this spearfisherman discovers. A massive shark appears to "check in" on all the action after a catch.

Rock Fishing Down Under

One of the deadliest forms of fishing around comes courtesy of the land down under. Rock fishing involves, as the name suggests, casting from rocky outcrops. The danger lies in the incoming waves, which claims the lives of several Australian anglers per year.

Aerial Bow Fishing

Here's one way of ridding the waters of invasive species such as Asian carp. The jumping silver carp come pretty close to hitting the bowfisherman as well, making this new sport quite the adrenaline rush.

Surf Fishing For Great White Sharks

In search of the world's most feared animal, a group of anglers hit the beach to bring in a great white shark right to shore. The most chilling aspect has to be when one of them paddles out on a surfboard to set bait, with great whites swimming all around. For more wild and wacky fishing videos, click here.
