Kayak fishing on the Ottawa River

It isinteresting how things change in life? It can be about economical/social situation, it can be about health/family. But I want to tell about one of the major changes: the way that one fishes.

Before starting fishing 4 years ago, Ihad bought a kayak for exercising. Since I live close enough to the OttawaRiver, I though that was a great idea. And, indeed it was a great start, but I had anotheridea that would be better ? using my kayak for fishing!

I decide todo so, even before I had WFN channel at home to get some more insight with thekayak shows and tips available.First timethat I went out in the water with my kayak ? of course with my little tackle ?I had no idea how would it be? I started my journey from the Aylmer Marinatowards Shirley? Bay. I went alone and got some good trouble with some wavesand wind in the middle of the Ottawa River. I decided to keep going since I hadall my safety equipment in order.
Finally, after 25 minutes I've got to the other side and started to fish. Yeah!! I was kayak fishing. But soon I realized that I couldn?tstay in the some spot because of the current and wind. Lost many fishes, didn?tcatch any. Disaster!! But it was fu!!

One daywatching my newly bought fishing channel WFN, I was impressed with the fishing kayaksaround. Researched online and I did not have enough budget to get one of those that I saw in the shows. Then decided the fit up the one I had. After some research, I?ve got to revert the situation. With anchor, fish finder and rodholder, beside my little tackle, I was able to finally tackle some good fish. That isreally fun! And for sure I do recommend kayak fishing ? exercise is good and possibilities tofish where boats cannot go!!

Me having fun in my newly discovered fishing method.
