I've been a regular contributor to the Ambassador page since the beginning. I was chosen as a Top Ambassador in June of 2011 and was named one of the ten top Ambassadors of 2012. I haven't posted many blogs over the past eight months because my family has suffered some health issues. My 85 year old Mother-in Law who lives with my wife and myself has leukemia and can't be left alone. I am retired so I stayed home to take care of her. I only fished about a dozen time from July through September. We got her into rehab in November and she came home two weeks ago. The doctors got the leukemia under control and she is doing much better. We hired an aide to help her with her daily activities. Just before Labor Day my wife Paula was supposed to get a bone spur removed from her shoulder. As part of pre-op she had to go for a chest x-ray. The doctor called us and said we had to see him right away. They found a large mass in her right lung and was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. I winterized the boat right after Labor Day and canceled all our trips to Florida. She has handled the Chemo treatments like a champ. The chemo treatments are done and the surgery is set for mid March.

We got away to Florida last week to relax. We spent 5 days at the beach chilling out. I did some surf fishing and the spanish mackerel were blitzing the beach. They were nailing soft plastics on a jighead.

We are back in NY and my wife is preparing herself for the surgery. The Doctor said he should be able to remove all the cancer by removing her right lung. She will be in the hospital for 5 days and it will take about two months to recuperate.

I am asking you to say a little Prayer for my wife Paula for a full and speedy recovery. We hope to be back on the water by June and once again I'll be writing blogs.
