IGFA Record Catches - Lake Trout, Walleye, Thinlip Mullet
The IGFA has released a new batch of potential world record catches. It must be noted that these catches are currently undergoing the review process, and as of yet can?t be considered official world records.Note: Unless otherwise stated, these catches fall under the all-tackle (length) category.
On April 21, Martini Arostegui caught this striped surfperch while fishing in California?s Pacific Grove. It weighed 1 lb, 8 oz, measured in at 31.75 cm, and falls under the all-tackle category.
Peter F. Binaski landed two potential records within a day of each other. On May 25, he caught a walleye
that measured in at 54 cm while fishing at Minnesota?s Lake of the Woods. The next day, May 26, he landed a lake trout
that measured in at 82 cm. The fish was also caught in Lake of the Woods, but this time in Ontario, Canada.
On June 19, Cassandra Murphy caught this longtail tuna while fishing at Australia?s Moreton Island. It measured in at 110 cm.
Finally, Steven Maliska caught this potential all-tackle record thinlip mullet. It weighed 7 lbs, measured in at 53.34 cm, and was caught in Malpas, United Kingdom.
