Marty Giddens opened the season in a big way by winning the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Alabama North Division 1 tournament, held March 9, 2013, on Lake Guntersville.Running out of Bucky Howe City Park in the town of Guntersville, to fish the 69,100-acre lake, the Alpine, Ala., angler caught five bass weighing 31.89 pounds with an 8.17-pound kicker. His bag averaged 6.38 pounds.In second for the 139 boaters, Bryan Gregory of Fort Payne, Ala., landed a five-bass tournament limit for 31.38 pounds, followed by Jason Grape of Attalla, Ala., with five bass and 28.61 pounds including a 7.01-pound kicker. Jimmy Mason of Rogersville, Ala., finished fourth among the boaters with five bass and 27.28 pounds including an 8.94-pound kicker.Dale Pelfrey of Rockwood, Tenn., rounded out the top five boaters with five bass going 25.23 pounds. John Holtman of Rydal, Ga., won the Boater Division big bass contest with a 10.95-pounder.In the Co-Angler Division, Jody S. Moore of Dalton, Ga., landed a perfect three-bass division limit to win with 20.42 pounds. The winning bag averaged 6.81 pounds.In second for the co-anglers, Clint D. Harrison of Georgetown, Tenn., found three keepers for 19.22 pounds with an 8.22-pound kicker. John W. Hayes took third with three bass and 18.08 pounds.Jon R. Adams of Jacksonville, Ala., took fourth among the co-anglers. He landed three bass weighing 17.89 pounds, but his 11.03-pounder took tournament lunker honors. Keilan T.
