How to Attract More Birds Around Your Home

Now that you know the ingredients needed to attract birds to your yard, the next step is to draw a map of your property showing the location of the house, garage, driveway, lawn and all existing cover and features such as feeders, birdbaths, nest boxes, trees, shrubs, hedges, etc. Then ask yourself, how much cover, food and water do you already have on your property? What must you plant, grow, build, add and install to fulfill the needs of the birds you want to entice?

When your plan is complete, the work can follow, and the results will be immediately realized. Every backyard bird watcher has different capabilities in time and financial means, and each has to determine the extent of their backyard bird project. But even the smallest effort with the least investment will produce worthwhile results, and the rewards will be great.
